Phase

Emerging → growing → peak → distribution → ice point. A story's lifecycle is a tradable object; the badge tells you where in it you are.

Velocity

Signed acceleration of coverage in the window: +1.00 means all recent, −1.00 means the wire has moved on. Rank order is velocity, always.
