The Emre Belözoğlu era at Fenerbahçe

Fenerbahçe parted ways with head coach İsmail Kartal and appointed Emre Belözoğlu as his replacement on a 1.5-year contract, the Turkish football club announced. The managerial change comes as the Istanbul side reshuffles its technical leadership mid-season. Belözoğlu, a former Fenerbahçe captain, returns to the club in a coaching capacity. The length of the deal signals the board's intent to give the new coach a full transfer window and sustained control of squad planning. Investors and fans will watch upcoming match results and the club's January transfer activity for signs of the new direction.
