Sunrate launches AI Agent enterprise payment virtual card, having obtained Mastercard Agent Pay certification

Sunrate launched the Agentic Card, a programmable multi-currency corporate virtual card for AI agents, at Hong Kong Fintech Week, and the product has received Mastercard Agent Pay certification. The card enables AI agents to autonomously create virtual cards, initiate payments, and query transaction results within preset authorization limits and rules. Enterprises can set controls on transaction amounts, currencies, merchant categories, regions, and validity periods for use cases including procurement, business travel, marketing, and supplier payments, while retaining manual approval and transaction audit functions. Sunrate is also integrating AI agent capabilities for payments, FX, compliance, and corporate account opening through its Sunrate.AI platform to automate corporate payment workflows. The launch signals growing adoption of agentic payments infrastructure among fintech payment providers, with Mastercard certification providing a compliance and network foothold.
